No Seed Goes Unsifted

Updated: Aug 27, 2019

On a visit to a mountainside cardamom plantation in Kerala, we had the opportunity to stay for the night and learn how the farm works! The cardamom plants are grown on a very steep slope to maximise sunlight, with companion crops like peppercorn creepers, nutmeg trees and various other spices. ⠀

It was incredible to see the process from start to finish, as we got to the end of our stay we saw a woman sitting amongst a big pile of cardamom pods sifting in small batches to find any defects. It's humbling that no seed gets overlooked even at this scale of farming. 🙏💚
